About Constructed Wetlands
Wetland wastewater treatment is a nature-based system that utilizes water, aquatic plants, and microorganisms to effectively remove contaminants from water. At PowerCem, we have developed a Nano Catalyst using Zeolites and Alkali earth metals. This inert binder additive enables Water Utilities and Contractors to design and construct all the site infrastructure, including water basins, from various types of in-situ soils, such as organic topsoil, without the need to export, stockpile, or import stone, plastics, or clays.
Our innovative approach to constructed wetlands has been implemented for the first time at the expansive South Elmsall wetlands for Yorkshire Water, resulting in significant savings by reducing the thousands of truckloads of materials that would have otherwise been transported to and from the site.
By collaborating with Eric Wright Water and our design partners at Rodgers Leask, the groundwork conducted by DNS (Midlands) has progressed over the winter months, achieving cost, time, and carbon savings while promoting the most sustainable water solutions.
